Comments:

Dear Classmates, Thanks to all that were involved in putting the 35th reunion effort together. Its too bad that it won't materialize, but I know that 4th of July might be part of the problem with other plans for families and summer travel. I received the cancellation notice just short of working on my airfare to come back for it and spending the 4th of July in old PA. Hope next time around it can be pulled off...

A sincere thank you, for organizing our class reunion. I know you all put alot of work into it. I do appreciate the web site.

Joyce Falconer (Kapphan)

Sorry.  Even though I wasn't able to come, I do appreciate your efforts. Thanks for the web site too.  Nice to be able to keep in touch.
 Blessings and hugs...

Thanks for your efforts. I appreciate the web site.

Guys,

I want to applaud the efforts of those who’ve tried to bring this reunion off.  You are heroic!

Sincerely,

Joseph K. Vaughan, Ph.D.

Ditto on the applause for the committee members who planned the reunion.  I appreciate all you've done and wish things would have
worked out.  Keep up that incredible website.  Maybe we can shoot for a reunion in the future?

Carol (MacCosbe) Gregory

Would it be possible to try and schedule our 35th class reunion in the fall - like we have in the past?  I think part of the problem for having any Class Reunion in the summer is...vacations!  The six people I've spoken to and the 6 couples who usually go with me, had problems with the 4th of July Week.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Ginger (Blum) Worst
I was sorry to hear of the reunion cancellation.  You all did a great job and hopefully we will again get together.  Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in future reunions - that is, unless you're "fed-up" and who could blame you!

Marianne (Swineford) Davis

I received an e-mail indicating that we had until May 25th to send in our money. I know of several people, including me, that are procrastinators and were planning to send in our money in the next several days. Maybe we had a poor response because of the 4th of July weekend. I vote to reschedule, who's with me?

We couldn't have begun to do anything without computer whiz, Jim!  Hey, it was fun trying to get this reunion together and I enjoyed the communication with the other committee members.  We are still 'young' and capable of doing it again.  As long as Jim is keeping the website updated, you will be hearing from us again! We need to keep everyone involved and checking in, from time to time.

Thanks everyone...with hugs,
Jan Walker (Kramer)

Hey guys.... To try it another time is fine... but,,, It will be the same stuff all over again.. Summer isn't good.. Spring isn't good.. Fall  isn"t good.. winter isn't good.. wake up and smell the roses.  Next Time we will plan a year in advance  can any one handle that? Or HOW ABOUT FIVE YEARS.. for our 40th.  We all have stuff to bear;; like me with an aging parent..  so you do it and then if things change.. oh well.. But I thought I could get at Least 50 responses..Its like planning a wedding or whatever... show me the money.. not wasting
my time with  OK maybe I will be there. For all the people that still live in Shaler I say >>. Come to the football games or the baseball games Or what ever event you like..And come to the board meetings or whatever and see the things that are going on.. times have changed since we were the ruling teenagers. There is now a Franks Pizza at the mount Royal Plaza...(Franks from Millvale) I am loving It..  It dosen't Take much to keep me happy.. Jim keep the website. You are awesome...buy the way  we have the best homecoming activities south of NA!!!!!!!GO Titans   GO HUSKY"S..

Love Bevie Pooh ..Focker!

For those of us who wanted to come but the holiday weekend and complications (we are opening a new business within two weeks of this date) of our busy
lives prevented participation, we salute the efforts of the committee.  I really regret not coming to Pgh this summer - hope everyone has a great summer.

Kathy Devey Batchler

Thanks for your efforts. You did a commendable job. Please keep the website alive and I am sure we will get together again in the future.

I feel that Shaler's reunions should be held in the North Hills area, rather than in Millvale or Etna.  Shaler was the largest of the school districts and it seems more festive to have it perhaps at a hotel on McKnight road.  I believe that we had our 20th reunion at a hotel in that area...maybe it was the Sheraton.... Also, why were so many high school pictures omitted like mine and a lot of friends that I knew?

Renee Grimes Antosh

Response to Renee: Yes the 20th was held at the Sheraton, but not on Mcknight Road, it was held in Cranberry, Bulter County.  The venue for this reunion was selected because of the complaints received about the 30th reunion being too expense at $49.00 per person.  Being "festive" is not determined by the venue, but by the participants.  We had a little over 500 in our class, The classmates that contacted the web site or any of the committee members had their photo posted. You photo is now posted.  Instead of complaining, maybe avail your assistance in organizing next time around.

Bummer,  I just sent my check in.  I wonder how many more out there are as on top of things as I am?  I don't know how many folks you expected but attendence numbers generally decline over the years.  I was actually looking forward to the Mt. Alvernia event - thinking back to those high school dances some 35 years ago with all those Catholic girls.  Damn!  I hope that something can be worked out and we all get together.  Thanks for the effort!
Jimmy Kearns

Sorry I am using another space here for a comment, but I am a little confused by Renee's comment...does that say what I read it to say??  I'm shocked that anyone would even have the nerve to say that, especially after all the negative comments about the prices being too high.  And Jim is right...when you email him a response, he automatically puts your picture on the website...if this is your first response on the website, that explains why your 1971 picture is not showing.  It would be nice to see an updated picture, Renee, to add to the website.  I would also like to remind everyone that this website is not free.  Jim takes it upon himself to PAY for the services himself, which we are all thankful for.  Okay...no more comments from me...jw

I am really sorry that the reunion was canceled this was one that i was looking forward to. i can never wake the ones that are held in the winter time. so the summer is a great time to have it. please keep me updated on what is going on. would realy like to hear from some of you. from time to tome
have a great day.

Gee Renee, Thats too bad you are pissed off... My heart goes out to you.Other than the fact that there are no hotels in Shaler  OR even near Shaler except for the Evergreen (and maybe a few would show up there)Mt. Alvernia is a central place on the Millvale/Shaler line. It has alot of memories from people in Shaler. In Fact in 1972 Shaler, Millvale,Etna,Reserve, merged. It is now Shaler Area! We did not merge with North Hills. You want festive? I don't see how a Hotel is festive other than the fact that a stranger decorates for you.You have no idea what ideas we had for "festive". So you want to see you and your friend's picture's on a website????????  OH Boy... Well keep in touch and tell your friends to do the same..  OR open your yearbook. From the bottom of my heart.....

Sorry, I did not respond sooner.  I was planning to  come from Florida to attend 35th Reunion. I spoke to several other out-of-town classmates planning to attend, but did not commit. I thought it would be good to set a date and have everyone interested to showup at the Sheridan(or other Lounge).

Ken Bernauer

I totally agree with the comment made to Renee that if she doesn't like the way things are run she should avail herself at the next reunion.
It's the same attitude concerning our politicians.  Those who complain the LOUDEST are usually the ones who don't vote!!

This is the first I've been on the site for a while.

I am really sorry to find out the reunion has been cancelled.

My husband just cancelled our other plans for that weekend so that meant that I would be able to attend. Thank you for all of your efforts to try to make this reunion happen.  I really loved the flyer you sent announcing it.  To all who have tried to make this possible CONGRATULATIONS.  I know everyones time is valuable.  Have a wonderful and safe summer.

Ruth (Sheets) Shord

I was sorry to hear of the cancellation of the reunion.  I was going to be in town until the day before the scheduled reunion.  We have to leave to enroll our youngest at the University of Florida.  Please have someone note a change od address.
